As the bombs burst I think of my time recently in the Wadi Rum. The peace and quiet and the friendly bedouin people. I also thought today about how close all the countries in that part of the world are, space wise. From the Dead Sea the lights of Jerusalem are clearly visable. It is a short drive to anywhere from anywhere, that also means shells and missles do not take long to find a target.
