WHAT IS THE TRAVEL WRITING LIFE REALLY LIKE? IS IT AS GREAT AS PEOPLE THINK? I HOPE TO COME TO SOME CONCLUSIONS AS I SHARE MY TRIPS AND TRAVAILS.

Saratoga Track, Place Your Bets

by Kent St. John on August 1, 2007

We are heading up to the Saratoga Race Track today for our yearly attempt to take down the boards. No doubt we will be using the St. John system of closing eyes and stabbing a horse’s name from the sheets. Another sure fire method is playing names such as Lava Cat, because we have three and Mama Theresa just cause I love chicken parm. I am not sure why but it seems to work every year.

If you head to one of the prettiest tracks in a picture perfect city its hard to be a loser. Spending the night opens opportunities to enjoy some great dinner and lively atmosphere, preferably with NYRA’s money. See you on the Porch.
