Approximately an hour and 15 minutes away from Manhattan, lies the 140-acre Blue Jay Orchards. This farm is in the town of Bethel, Connecticut and offers the ultimate fall experience. The adjoining shop has jugs of freshly pressed cider, local honey, an whole array of baked goods, sauces, jams, jellies, syrups, coffee and some of the best cider donuts I have ever tasted. I went there two days in a row, and on both days I got the donuts. I could post a picture but that would be of an empty box because between my husband and I, we have finished a dozen of them.

This is my favorite time of the year, a time when pumpkin spiced lattes, tall boots, fall themed parties, apple-scented candles, sticky candies, spooky decor and horror movies will start making the rounds.

Happy Autumn, everyone!
