The Bridge of Andau Burgenland Austria

Andau bridge fishing at the river on the border of Austria and Hungary

The bridge of Andau spanning the canal at the border between Austria and Hungary, is a small wooden structure over which 70,000 refuges escaped during the Hungarian revolution in 1956. Today you can cross  freely. It is frequented by historians, travelers and local fisherman. I got there by bicycle after a beautiful ride through the surrounding vineyards and farmlands.
