On a bench at the corner of Queen and Victoria Row In Charlottetown, Prince Edwards Island, sits Canada’s first prime minister, Sir John A. MacDonald. Cast in bronze by artist Michael Halterman, he leans forward, as if in mid thought, engaging whoever occupies the next seat. Public art is often hit miss but this one really works and at least you can still use half of the bench. But, Sir. John wont be giving up his seat any time soon.
