The Waterlooplein, in Amsterdam

Amsterdam’s annual calendar is always jam-packed with exciting festivals, and this year’s most hotly-anticipated event for techno music fans is the award-winning Welcome to the Future. Though only in its sixth year, this fantastic festival brings music lovers on cheap flights to Amsterdam from all over Europe, for a day of partying and dancing that’s always one to remember.

Taking place in Amsterdam’s lush Het Twiske park on the 28th July, Welcome to the Future will this year feature 45 of the hottest new and established house and techno artists hailing from all corners of the globe, though the Netherlands will be well-represented too.

Festival goers can look forward to becoming formally acquainted with the likes of Art Department and Solomun, as well as some familiar faces to techno fans in the form of Karotte, Surgeon, Carl Craig and Derrick May.

Experience the Music

Performances will take place on the beautifully decorated stages that the festival has become famous for, across six themed areas to add a unique and intimate dimension to your festival experience.

The more chilled acts will grace the stages in the Future and Garden areas, whereas the pace is much faster in other areas, especially the Circus and the Main area where you should be prepared to party hard.

This year’s Welcome to the Future festival is a great reason to take cheap flights to Amsterdam this July, and with flights to Amsterdam from airlines such as Jet2.com starting at just £20.99 it doesn’t have to be a budget-breaking trip.  There are also lots of cheap Amsterdam hotels that you can find using services like Easy to Book and other sites.

Try to plan your Welcome to the Future festival experience as part of a long weekend, as there are sure to be lots of pre- and after-parties that you won’t want to miss!
