Which Touristy City Do You Like?

My choice of a touristy city that I like is Jaipur.* I usually avoid the big tourist attractions as they have so many hassles involved with them. Or at least I just visit them once.
But I still like being in Jaipur. I last visited Jaipur in 2008. And I realized that I had not seen so many of the city attractions in spite of being there many times before. I particularly recommend the City Palace for its breathtaking architecture and wonderful museum. I am sure I have still not seen all that the city has to offer.
But the biggest reason I like Jaipur is because of the shopping it offers. I am sure I get sucked into tourist traps there but I so much like the colors of Rajasthan be it fabrics or jewelery. Every time I visit the place I end up shopping which is quite rare for me!

My fav. "touristy" city is Khajuraho – small and peaceful town. In the US – it's San Diego.

Somehow, I liked Jaisalmer better…. a little less polluted by "the human touch" ;) But Andaman tops my list of tourist places in India so far.

Indica I too would be hard pressed to pick up one but here I was thinking about more regular touristy cities like Jaipur, Agra, etc.

It's difficult to choose one place. Being fond of nature and mountains, I like the hill stations of India – Mussoorie (and Landour), Nainital, Manali, Munnar are some of them. I like Leh too.

I too went there in 2008…Well as of now I liked the place…Well I think that the company u have and the mood you are in (like the type of holiday u are looking for) affects the place you visit..Lansdowne is peaceful place and can be boring…but unless u have the company of real miscreants :P PS: no business interest in any of them :P
