Cleaning up the Park, Cleaning up Wall Street

I’m delighted to hear that nobody had to vacate Zuccotti Park in Lower Manhattan, as predicted, today. Barricaded in by steel pens, surrounded by marshal control, helicopters circling above, the demonstrators have done a remarkable job of garnering attention for their cause despite the obstacles.

Brookfield Properties, the owners of the park, were asking the demonstrators to leave so that a proper cleaning of the park could take place. When activists heard this they quickly mounted a sanitation patrol themselves using scrub-brushes, soap and even glass cleaner. They meticulously scrambled to detox any footprint they caused proving that they did not need to be displaced and were serious about maintaining order and semblance while using their first amendment rights to voice their opinions.

Way to go peaceful “Occupy Wall Street”.
