<a Today I left the Equinox and took Route 11 over the mountains towards Peru and beyond. It was easy to see what devastation hurricane Irene left but I have to say the Vermont road and bridge workers have done an amazing job putting things back together.
I ended up after 12 miles of unpaved roads in the beautiful town of Grafton, back in time and all on its own. It was once prosperous and then went into decline. Since 1963 through the work of the Windham Foundation it has come full circle and is known as the prettiest town in VT. Today the Grafton Village Cheese Company operates there making wonderful nutty type cheddar. There is also an old Inn there that looks amazing, and considering the road to Grafton a true hideaway.
