I had two thoughts on my mind as I headed up historic route 7A towards Manchester Vermont, did hurricane Irene blow the leaves off the trees there by ruining my leaf peeping and did Starwood with their renovations ruin the Equinox Inn with too much. On both accounts things turned out well, the colors of fall in ample display and the renovations perfectly done.
It isn’t and easy thing to take a two hundred year old piece of lodging history and putting in the luxury demanded by hotels that step up to Starwood’s Luxury Collection. The understated feel and earth tones worked well at the Equinox. The hotel has a Spa that already made most guests delighted and nothings changed there, no need. The common areas fared well under renovations, clean, neat and spacious. The signature Chop Restaurant also features an understated look that works well. I am not ready to leave this collection!
