My first impression of Charleston is that I feel at home and been here many times, never before. My second is that I never should have waited so long to get here. Charleston beckons me to roam and yet stay and just soak in just where I sit. Already I’m not caring either way, just being here is enough.
We slept with the French doors to the iron balcony wide open last night and awoke to church bells ringing in Sunday, the rain providing the backdrop, very pleasant way to begin a day. I’m back on my balcony now with an issue of Budget Traveler and National Geo Traveler and both happen to have pieces about Charleston in them. No doubt that MY balcony in the Mills House Hotel will be someones else’s
and that’s great. The very friendly residents will welcome you.
