Well, Day 3 was all about Nauset Light and Chatham Light, and of course, the beaches nearby. It was one of those days when the clouds part for a while and then slowly get back together. You wish you could tear them apart like you would a giant ball of cotton but then you resign yourself to a cloudy day at the beach. But just as you do so, the sun peeks out for a little while, long enough to have you reaching for your shades.
Anyway, sun sightings aside, it was a glorious day. Our little one did not seem to mind the cold waters of the Atlantic, and my husband and I were glad to find the beach sparsely populated (one of the few perks of taking a beach holiday in the early weeks of September).
Dangerous marine life (read sharks), tricky currents and heavy surf aside, the town of Chatham has a great shoreline. And as you can see above, a pretty neat lighthouse, right?
