I’ve read a lot of guidebooks over the years and always found something lacking, enjoyed them but found them mundane. With the road trip urge building up I checked out a great one, one I wish covered the world. Lonely Planets, New England Trips is fantastic, full of different ideas and fun offbeat info. Clam digging on the Cape and Farm stand fresh for example, 53 themed trips with over 1012 local places to see. I checked out some places I know pretty well to see if different ideas would pop out and they did. This week at some point I’ll pack the camera and this book and put the steel belts on the asphalt.
