I’ve already posted about my recent stay at one amazing place in Santa Fe, Inn of the Five Graces on the Checking In Blog but I thought a little background about the owners and their one of a kind business would be interesting, especially if furniture and works of art for the home are your thing. Seret & Sonshave a store in Santa Fe that would open the eyes of anyone wide open, the collection of Tibetan, Afghani and other Asian treasures, walls, rugs and impossible to find pieces is just plain amazing! The Inn is decorated with some of the thousands of works of art.
Ira Seret worked in Afghanistan for fifteen years back in time, helping companies such as Anne Klein and Oscar de la Renta get those exotic treasures. His wife Sylvia joined him. After the Russian backed coup they returned to the US and started driving to California to restart life but the stop in Santa Fe became permanent and the rest is history. I highly recommend a stay at the Inn of the Five Graces where they use all those wonderful materials and then head to Seret & Sons to shop, Inn guests get a discount. The treasures the Sertet’s saved from Tibet boggle my mind. Even the website makes for an amazing visit.
