Brown’s Ice Cream in York, Maine

For the next few days I will be taking you through some of the eats and treats in York, Maine. First up is Brown’s Old Fashion Ice Cream pictured above. The queue was long (what is it with Maine and long queues this summer?) but the order windows were many so we didn’t have to wait long.

The ice cream was good and as the name suggests, had that beautiful old-time cloud-like shape, the kind you don’t get from machines. If I stayed nearby, I would go there every evening.

The road to the beach was packed with trailers and RVs but of course, not every home was on wheels. There were plenty of summer houses too, and quite a few of them were available for rent. The beach was crowded, but that is expected on a hot summer’s day, especially after the long, bitterly cold winter this year.
