A Recap of the Year 2012

I guess I still have time to do a recap of my travels in 2012, seeing as we are in the first month of the new year. Surprisingly, Newport featured twice in our travels, the first time was when we did the Cliff Walk with my parents and then during Christmas. I wrote a couple of posts about foodie trends (eating local and foraging). I wrote a lengthy piece on traditional breakfasts from around the world. It was published on BootsnAll in November. I reviewed a few eateries in Connecticut like Cherry Street Cafe, Edo II, Sugar & Olives and Sycamore Drive-in, in course of which I discovered I liked Korean food.
Spring was all about road trips with our 6-month old. My parents joined us and the five of us covered a lot of places from Washington DC to Mount Washington in New Hampshire. Shenandoah National Park was thrown in as a side to the DC trip but proved to be a nice respite from the grit of the city. This was also the year we discovered the joys of traveling with a baby. His first road trip was to the Springfield Museums when he was all of four months old. He did his first hike up Mount Battie at nine months and for his first birthday, we took him to Story Land. Not a bad round-up of places for someone who has just learnt to walk, eh?
