The World is Getting Better

There is no magic number when it comes to having kids. One is good. So is two. As is zero. We recently went from one to two kids. So far, it’s been a learning experience in sharing our time and space with a brand new chubby addition to the family.

Meanwhile, our six year old did a rendition of Dog Man and I put it … Read the rest

Ridgefield Holiday Stroll 2017

If you had a list of New England town must-haves, three-century-old Ridgefield in Connecticut would tick every box. Located on the western fringe of Fairfield County, it’s the right amount of small. It’s upscale but not pretentious, has museums and playhouses, and parks and lakes. The town’s generously tree-lined Main Street has rows of charming storefronts and a slew of Colonials and Capes, which made … Read the rest

10 Things I am Thankful for Right Now

Amidst the maple pecan lattes, blushed cheeks, fall fashion, and seasonal delights, there’s a sense of time … Read the rest

Silver Sands State Park in Milford – Beaches, Pirates and Buried Treasure

Legend has it that Captain William Kidd, notorious pirate that he was, may have buried some of his treasure on Charles Island, off the coast of Milford in Connecticut. The island is accessible from Silver Sands State Park during low tide but it’s off limits for most of summer as it’s a designated natural preserve for local birds. The slippery half-mile sandbar (or tombola if … Read the rest

Sweet Summer Spots in Fairfield County

New England summers are all about the surf and sand, and of course, seafood. As someone who has been dutifully doing her rounds of beaches and eateries, I can tell you about a few places I tried recently.

The first one is Westfair Fish and Chips in Westport, Connecticut. A hole-in-the-wall place, Westfair is a seafood lover’s haven. Not many people know about this dive. … Read the rest
