How many travelers think of visiting a city’s Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB for short) before they go? Hopefully plenty because the non-profit organization is a wealth of ideas and suggestions. Not only do they post discounts and deals, maps and trip planners but free mobile apps and virtual tours too.

After D.R. I flew home on Sunday with only enough time enough to wash a load and repack again.

Oh, the rigors of travel…. for the next 4 days I’m tied to skiing fresh powder for “Visit Salt Lake CIty” or the state’s CVB equivalent. The itinerary includes one mighty mountain per day: Brighton Resort, Solitude Mountain, Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort and, saving the best for last, Alta Mountain.

A few minutes after landing this morning, I circled downtown Main Street for a glimpse at the building of a new retail centerpiece called City Creek Center.

The ribbon-cutting tomorrow launches another redevelopment project spurred on by the growth of the area following the XIX Olympics in 2002. 10 years since the big games and the city maintains their premium skiing designation while expanding into a destination of world-class fashion.
