Dark Star Orchestra Breaks the Streak of No Live Music Tonight

Dark Star Brings their Exciting Show to a Music-Starved Audience

I’m excited to be getting back to live music tonight. For the first time since mid-March, I’ll watch music played on a stage, by a great group of musicians who I’m sure will be as happy to be up there as I am watching them.

It’s time for Dark Star Orchestra–live at the Cheshire Fairgrounds in Swanzey, New Hampshire.  I’ve seen this Grateful Dead band two other times, once at the Calvin Theater, and once up in Hampden Beach New Hampshire, both times I went with my faux bro-in-law, John Cunningham.

John’s a seasoned Deadhead with dozens of shows and a legion of friends in his Ripple community.  For John, I’m sure it will be as sweet as it will be for me to get back into the swing of live music and the camaraderie of the Dark Star band and their devoted followers.

I’ve seen the remaining three members of the Grateful Dead live, in Worcester, and honestly, I think these Dark Star guys are more fun to watch live. Each night Dark Star plays an entire GD show

This show, of course, will be different, just like everything in 2020.  We had COVID tests last Wednesday at a drive-in clinic in Holyoke and the tickets are sold by the carload.

So we would have been authorized to include five people in the car. But these days not just anyone can climb aboard.  With the COVID fears, we limited it to just us, since nobody else was able to confirm and get the test in time.
