Patriots Nation Stays in Place, Wilmington Coming Up
One thing that really hasn’t changed much in the COVID era is the experience of watching a football game. Even though the league now pipes in the appropriate stadium-specific crowd music taped in 2019 to the arena, the game experience for the home viewer remains the same.
It’s one of so few things we have left as we grind on coming to our eight months of COVID hazards.
I am excited for when the election will be over. It’s just exhausting and worrisome, and while I predict a blue Biden victory, I have my moments of fear.
Like maybe all of the Trump signs you see driving across the country mean something more than ‘a fanatic lives here!’
But life is eeaking back to what it once was, even with slim travel ahead. I am going on a trip on November 5 to Wilmington Delaware, to write a story with Bruce Northam.
We will take Amtrak down to Joe Biden Jr. station and hope to capture the excitement after the election in his home city. I think this trip will be well-timed if the election goes blue, since we will be in the middle of the victory celebration.
I think this will be a fun trip, always love traveling with Bruce and I love the lesser-known cities. And a helicopter museum and taking a ride in an antique car to see covered bridges!? YES!
My mom turned 88 on her last birthday, and she sent me this swell LL Bean jacket/shirt which I love. Mary and I took a walk up to the top of Sugarloaf today, it was one of those perfect crisp fall days.
Patriot Nation Lives in a Million Solitary Homes
The Patriots are coming on the telly in just a bit, and I’m only inviting a few fellow fans. We just don’t have room for a close-quarters viewing situation. We all have accepted these limitations, and wear the mask when we have to. We just need to get through this and make the virus go away by shortening the number of new cases.
I was shopping in Walmart yesterday and I sign caught my eye. Get your free flu shot here. So I got not one, but two shots, when they suggested that now might be the time to get the Zosteroff shot for shingles, so I gave him one shoulder for that and the other for the flu shot. In the middle of the night, I was shivering and achy, and it was the effects of those two shots.
Thankfully no more problems on Sunday. Today for the game, I made Beef, Harissa, and Almond sausage rolls. See what the guys think. I roasted peppers on the grill to put in these!
